Aisling Bea

Aisling is an Irish-born comedian that has been in the business for quite a while. She was born in Kildare, Ireland on the 16th of March 1984. The comedian appeared on QI along with Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, better than her stage name Aisling Bea (born on 16 March 1984), is an Irish actor, writer and stand-up comedian. Bea's professional career started in 2011 as a comedian after appearing in small parts in Irish and British TV shows that began in the year 2009. The year 2012 saw her begin to appear regularly on sketch and sitcoms. In 2012, following her was awarded an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA) and began to be featured regularly in various panel programs. She's been part of 8 Out of 10 Cats since the year 2016 and is an extremely popular contestant on its sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was the daughter of Brian and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister named Sinead. The only ever female to be a winner of the show So You Think You're Funny. The surname she uses is Bea in honor of her deceased father. Aisling Cliodhnadh'Sullivan' was born in Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Bea's father Brian who was an equine vet who took his own life after Bea turned three, was the sufferer of self-harm. She was told about his suicide only after the age of thirteen. Bea adopted the stage name Bea to pay tribute to her father and she wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about her family's experience of suicide. Bea along with her younger sister Sinead were raised by their mother Helen (nee Moloney) who was a secondary school teacher and jockey trainer, as well as a professional jockey for a time. Their family was passionate about horses and races. Bea was a child an instructor for the Irish National Stud. From the age of a child, Bea knew that she did not want to pursue racing as a career. She was more interested in the artistic arts.
